Many feeding therapists work in rural areas, and/or in areas where they do not have access to psychology services. I offer psychology consultation services to any therapists, teachers or physicians working with children and families with Pediatric Feeding Disorders.

My Specialties Include:

  • Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and Pediatric Feeding Disorder (PFD), though working on oral motor skills is outside my scope of practice.
  • Children with intellectual and neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorders and other genetic disorders
  • Food related anxiety concerns interfering with daily life and social interactions
  • Gastrointestinal disorders (reflux, constipation, and eosinophilic esophagitis)
  • Food allergies (phobias or obsessive-compulsive behaviors associated with allergic events or foods, both experienced and perceived
  • Choking events resulting in significant decrease in oral intake, weight, and/or nutrition

Types of consultation I provide:

  • Assessment and diagnosis of Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder
  • Data collection and evaluation of challenging mealtime behaviors
  • Developing feeding interventions
  • Incorporating interventions into settings outside the home (school, hospital, group homes)
  • Training (including seminars and workshops) to professionals.
    • Can be live or via Zoom
  • Direct patient consultation to therapists in New York State (with signed parent permission)
  • Education to physicians (primary care and specialists) regarding early identification of Pediatric Feeding Disorders and ARFID, and psychological management of concurrent medically related feeding issues (GI, allergy, choking).

Pricing

Consultation fees are $125 per hour.
